So you signed up for your first Pole Class.
Hell Yes!
But also… what now?!
-
-We encourage our students to wear what makes them feel comfortable and confident. For you that might be shorts and a tank, a sports bra, a bikini, bodysuit, or lingerie. All are welcome!
-Leggings are ok for most dance-based classes, but always keep a pair of shorts to change into if needed! Exposed skin is a huge part of what helps you stick to the pole!
-It's always a good idea to have knee pads and socks on hand, especially for dance-based classes. We have kneepads available for purchase at the studio.
-You are welcome to pole barefoot, in socks, or in platform heels. If you’d like to try a pair of classic stripper heels but don’t yet own any, you can rent a pair for $8.
-
-No lotions or creams at least 12 hours before class. Oils prevent you from being able to grip the pole and can create an unsafe environment for your fellow students.
-That said, no need to show up ashy! We highly recommend using a non-greasy moisturizer at least 8 hours before class. We recommend Aveeno or Corn Huskers Lotion (available at the studio).
-No rings allowed in all classes as it can scratch the equipment and damage your belongings.
-Your cute “going out heels”. Sorry, but no street shoes past the entry way. We put our faces on that floor!
-
-Your beautiful self, an open mind, and a willingness to try something new without assigning judgment to whether you’re “good” or “bad”. Spoiler: Almost no one starts off “good”!
-It’s always a good idea to have (or wear) a pair of shorts or bikini bottoms, a sports bra, a pair of knee pads, and a pair of socks. We sell kneepads at the studio if you need a pair!
-Water and a snack. Pole is f#!*ing hard! Hydrate.
-Your phone. You don’t have to record yourself if you don’t want to, but it’s always a lovely thing to get to look back at your first pole class and see how far you’ve come!
